Hereford company Sun Valley Foods and Sainsbury's are celebrating winning a national award at the 2006 Quality Food Awards.

Sainsbury's Kids Chicken Breast Chunks in Breadcrumbs, manufactured by Sun Valley at its Yazor Road facility in Hereford, won the Junior Q award for being the best food product aimed at children in the awards, which are recognised as being one of the food industry's most prestigious competitions.

Yana Childs, business account director at Sun Valley Foods said: "This award is a tremendous boost for everyone involved in the manufacturing process at Sun Valley.

"We are proud of the high-quality products we manufacture here in Hereford, and receiving an award as important as this is a great reward for all the hard work of our staff."

The product is made from chicken fillet chunks and coated in high-fibre breadcrumbs and has the nutritional benefits of being low in saturated fat, having no artificial ingredients or hydrogenated oils, and being low in sugar.
