St Andrew's Day treat hits the spot
Hall's, Scotland's leading producer of haggis and sausages, has revealed year-on-year sales growth of up to 620% for its Chicken Balmoral product.
Hall's, Scotland's leading producer of haggis and sausages, has revealed year-on-year sales growth of up to 620% for its Chicken Balmoral product, cementing the company's successful launch into the growing ready-to-cook foods sector.
The introduction of Chicken Balmoral in 2004 has catapulted Hall's into the sector, with nearly £1m of sales in the year to September 2006.
The company's Raw Added Value (RAV) range, which also includes Beef Olives and the recently launched Chicken Braemar, has earned the company almost 10% of a market worth £11m in Scotland alone.
Chicken Balmoral, which is stuffed with classic haggis in creamy peppercorn sauce, and the black pudding version Chicken Braemar, offer consumers a sophisticated choice for St Andrew's Day celebrations with an authentic Scottish flavour.
Anna Finlay, spokesperson for Hall's, said: "Hall's is delighted with the exponential success of Chicken Balmoral, which combines the traditional and the innovative to appeal to a growing number of customers.
"We are confident the range will prove even more popular for St Andrew's Day celebrations and as great comfort meals over the coming winter months."
Chicken Balmoral is available in Asda, Morrisons, Sainsbury's and Tesco stores throughout Scotland. Chicken Braemar is available in Sainsbury's and Tesco with plans underway to expand both product lines south of the border.
The Hall's portfolio also includes Aberdeen Angus sausages, Wee Willie Winkies and the world's best selling Haggis.
