Find Local Produce Online

 - Published:  10 October, 2007

The NFU has launched an online Local Food Finder listing service to help promote local produce.

The service can be found on the NFU website and is designed for anyone who owns a farmshop, has their own business or supplies local shops with produce.

It is free and provides a region by region breakdown with links to food producers, shops, markets and suppliers across the country. As well as enabling consumers to locate local produce, it will help suppliers looking to find a way into the local market.

Helen Cotterill, senior web editor at NFU Online, said: "It's free advertising for our members on the site and a great way to promote your business online as consumers do visit the website for information.

"Buying local produce has never been so important, so get down and support your local produce providers.

"We'd like to see as many of our members as possible signing up to take advantage of this benefit. It's just another great reason to become a member of the NFU."

Anyone wanting to feature their business on the site should send their name and address, website and email details and NFU membership number to foodfinder@nfu.org.uk
