Debbie & Andrew success with kids range
Award-winning Yorkshire sausage brand, Debbie & Andrew's, is widening availability of its new children's sausages after striking a second supermarket distribution deal.
Previously only sold in selected larger Sainsbury's, from the end of October its Ellie & Roddy's Perfect Little Pork Sausages will be on-shelf in 50 north-east Morrisons stores, selling alongside the popular Harrogate gluten-free and Perfect Pork recipes from the range.
The deal was struck following positive feedback from an extensive summer sampling project among Yorkshire parents and childcare groups.
It further strengthens Debbie & Andrew's position in the premium sausage category, reflecting the company's commitment to expanding distribution of its ethical farmers' market sausages beyond its regional heartland and adding value to the chilled sausage sector.
Debbie & Andrew's is now the UK's third-largest and fastest-growing sausage brand, outgrowing all branded competitors with +130% growth in the past 12 weeks according to latest TNS data for the category.
Ellie & Roddy's Perfect Little Pork Sausages are made with the same fair trade, lean British pork shoulder and other fresh ingredients as the rest of the Debbie & Andrew's range, with the added benefit of containing 25% less fat and reduced salt.
Debbie and Andrew Keeble, the Thirsk-based couple behind the range, developed the healthier, miniature sausages in response to Government targets to cut child obesity and to offer children a bite-size version of their favourite food. They are named after two of their children who helped develop the recipe.
