Bangers & Mash festival launched
The world's first festival to celebrate that popular British favourite - bangers and mash - is to be held in Lincolnshire this autumn.
The grounds of Lincoln Castle will play host to the first-ever potato and sausage festival on 25 October and organisers said it was a great opportunity to celebrate two of the country's favourite foods.
Lincolnshire's love affair with potatoes can be traced back 500 years, while its trademark sausage is nationally renowned and loved - one of the county's most famous exports.
The festival will feature cookery demonstrations from chefs, including celebrity chef Rachel Green, an education area, competitions, entertainment from street performers, samples and all sorts of stalls.
Lydia Rusling, from Tastes of Lincolnshire, said: "For a county that produces much of the UK's potatoes and is home to the famous Lincolnshire sausage, it seemed only right that Lincolnshire hosts the world's first sausage and potato festival."
