Do pigs reflect on life while waiting in the slaughter house?

Sausage Party, an animated short by Renegade Animation, made its debut at the Illinois International Film Festival on 15 September. The film shows the ironic story of an optimistic pig reflecting on his life and future without realising he is next on the chopping block.

The pig muses on his commitment issues with his girlfriend, talks about travelling the world and decides to go back to school.

Director, Darin McGowan, has described the film as "Pollyanna in the slaughterhouse".

It's almost enough to put you off your bacon sandwich.
