Snowbird's sausage reward

A major foodservice award has been presented to Snowbird Foods, for a fully cooked and frozen sausage, in what is regarded as a breakthrough in the market sector for the style of presentation.

The manufacturer took gold in the Meat, Poultry and Fish sector of the Excellence in Food and Drink Awards for its Gourmet Pork and Mustard Sausages. Snowbird sales director Roy Anderson said: "The quality is a given with Snowbird and the speed with which busy kitchens can react to customers orders, using fully cooked sausages, is really catching on...Snowbird has created a new niche market with this style of sausage and it is going to be one of the fastest-growing sectors in foodservice in 2007. The judges spotted a real winner."
