SUPER SAUSAGES

 - Published:  10 November, 2006

Goji berries, a so-called super fruit, is being included in a range of frozen sausages produced by US company Fabrique Delices.

The fruit is claimed to be all natural and free of MSG, preservatives and artificial flavours and is included in the company's pheasant sausages.

A spokesman for Fabrique Delices said: "The pheasant meat is blended with fresh garlic, fresh onions, fresh parsley, black peppercorn, rosemary and goji berries in an all natural pork casing."

The goji berries are said to be high in antioxidants, vitamins and minerals and shelf life is one week refrigerated or up to six months frozen.

The spokesman added goji berries were becoming a popular ingredient and had attracted interest in both the US and Europe.
