A manufacturer of meat ingredient products is celebrating after being awarded the highest accolade in food safety and hygiene for the 12th year running.

West Midlands-based BHJ UK Protein Foods Limited, has once again achieved the European Food Safety Inspection Service (EFSIS) Higher Level accreditation, recognised as the premier standard in food manufacturing.

BHJ UK sales and marketing director, Richard Parnell, said: "We regard food safety and hygiene as our number one priority and we are constantly striving to improve our production methods to ensure we remain at the top of our industry.

"EFSIS demands the highest standards of excellence. We're delighted to have been awarded it for the 12th year running and it's proof that our products are sourced and manufactured in a safe environment."

The company recently became the first producer in its sector to be certified as an approved supplier of British Quality Assured Pork (BQAP) and it was awarded the coveted standard for its highly successful Drinde range of functional proteins.

"We pride ourselves on delivering added-value solutions to customers and we aim to always be one step ahead of our competitors," said Parnell. "EFSIS and BQAP accreditation are a vital part of this and we're already working towards our 13th title."
