Pork praise in Cantonese
A leaflet extolling the virtues of Quality Standard Mark pork has been produced in both English and Cantonese by the British Pig Executive (BPEX).
The organisation's foodservice development manager, Richard Fagan, explained: "Pork is the world's favourite meat but it is generally under-represented in catering. However, in the Chinese sector this is not the case as some of the most popular dishes are based on pork."
Obtaining the Quality Standard Mark represents a significant investment in welfare by producers, processors and suppliers to provide consistent quality.
As well as explaining what the Mark means, the leaflet contains a selection of Chinese recipes featuring pork.
