Welsh Abattoir To Re-open

 - Published:  28 August, 2007

A Welsh abattoir which was forced to suspend operations during the FMD outbreak is due to re-open.

The Cig Cibyn abattoir, in Caernforn, is hoping to re-employ all 47 of its workers that were layed off in the wake of the export ban.

Directors have said that the abattoir- which exports 70% of its lamb- might resume trade this week.

Discussions regarding a financial aid package to assist the business are ongoing with Gwynedd Council.
