Welsh beef back on the box

 - Published:  14 February, 2007

Welsh beef is to return to television screens across Wales in time for the run-up to St David's day.

The advertisement, created by HCC - Meat Promotion Wales, will be on air from the week beginning 12 February 2007 until St David's Day, on S4C and ITV Wales.

The storyboard depicts the versatility of Welsh Beef, from a sirloin steak and lasagne to a roast and stew, accompanied by a male voice singing a rendition of The Men of Harlech with some unique wording.

The Welsh Beef TV advert was first screened in the run up to Christmas 2005 and has been shown at regular intervals since then.

Evaluation recorded the advertisements to be a great success, raising consumer awareness of Welsh Beef and substantially increasing the likelihood of them choosing Welsh Beef over other meats.

Gwyn Howells, HCC Chief Executive said: "TV adverts can have an immediate impact on consumers and we hope that we can again influence Welsh Beef sales during and after the advertising period. St. David's Day is an important day for Wales and what better way to celebrate our Patron Saint's day than over a meal of Welsh Beef."
