Welsh Christmas campaign launch

Hybu Cig Cymru/Meat Promotion Wales (HCC) will launch its Christmas television advertising campaign for Welsh Beef tonight, with a slot in the reality show, I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.

The prime time push continues in the run up to and during the first three weeks of December with advert appearances in the commercial breaks of Loose Women, Emmerdale, Strictly Confidential and the early evening news programme among other top-rated shows on ITV 1.

"This concentrated campaign is to warm consumers to the taste of Welsh Beef in the run-up to Christmas and the New Year and to support our new point-of-sale promotions based around recipes to keep family and friends well-fed during the 'Twelve Days of Christmas'," said Gwyn Howells, HCC's chief executive.

"Recent sales of Welsh Lamb and Welsh Beef are well up according to our new consumer survey figures and we are keen to keep the momentum going at a time of year when higher quality products- such as our PGI-awarded Beef and Lamb- are in great demand."
