Better Returns at Christmas Fair

The Smithfield Christmas Fair on 1-2 December will see EBLEX offering visitors the chance to test their sheep and cattle selection skills as part of their Better Returns scheme.

Live sheep and cattle will be on display at the EBLEX stand, which will be offering help and guidance to livestock farmers with the assistance of sheep and beef technical experts.

The stand will also host a butchery demonstration which will highlight the differences in wastage from lean and fat beef ribs.

Peter Reynolds, EBLEX regional manager for the South West, said: "Both the hands-on contest and the butchery demonstration can be real eye-openers for producers. It is well worth livestock farmers spending some time with us and talking over any problems they may have."
