BIKERS' JERKY

 - Published:  10 November, 2006

Bikers wanting a snack while on the open road, and consumers looking for a new meaty treat, will be able to feast on a creation following the pairing of a motor company and one of North America's leading packaged food companies.

ConAgra Foods has teamed up with Harley-Davidson, in a multi-year licensing agreement, to produce and market Harley-Davidson branded beef jerky.

Paul Lapadat, president of ConAgra Foods Snack Foods, said in a report: "Convenience-store operators should find that Harley-Davidson Beef Jerky augments their meat-snack sales, draws new customers and drives additional purchases."

The product is available in three flavours: Original, Teriyaki and Pepper.

Shipping starts in January 2007 to convenience stores and Harley-Davidson dealerships.
