Westaways Beefs Up Its Burgers

 - Published:  04 October, 2006

West country red meat company Westaways has launched a new beef burger package for the foodservice industry.

It consists of a new premium burger made from lean Westcountry beef, packaged in a durable and sustainable box.

The Westaways Premium Beef Burger contains no additives, colouring or artificial flavouring, with only salt and pepper added. The package is frozen, with a six month shelf life, available in 5kg boxes.

The Westaways 'burger box' has a foil lining, which helps to keep the contents cool. A water resistant exterior coating to the box helps maintain the integrity of the packaging, which is re-usable, recyclable and biodegradable.

Charles Baughan, marketing director of Westaways said: "This latest product launch is designed to provide added value to our food service customers. The intensity of the beef burger taste will prove extremely popular with consumers and the new packaging will make their storage and distribution even more convenient."
