Waitrose is working towards improving supply and returns in the British beef industry by holding a series of free workshops for beef farmers. The workshops aim to give delegates a greater depth of understanding about the food chain and the factors dr

iving profitability.

Waitrose will invite beef far-mers to Edinburgh, York and Builth Wells between 12-14 September for day-long events, organised jointly with the Royal Agricultural College (RAC).

Industry experts will offer advice to farmers and be open to discussion and debate. Topics covered will include new opportunities in the beef market, production challenges, adapting to customer demand and improving returns.

Farmers attending will be given take-home packs to ensure that the information gathered is at hand for future reference. The aim is to help farm businesses become more competitive and move towards greater sustainability.
