How juicy
French star declares his love for a bit of British beef.
British beef has not always enjoyed the best reputation in France, but that has not stopped French actor Gerard Depardieu declaring his love for the meat.
In an interview with French news magazine VSD, Depardieu said, "Angus beef, how juicy! I remember having some in 1997 as I was working on a film in Southampton - a meat I especially love because of its juiciness and its taste."
And Depardieu is not alone in his enthusiasm. In the same article Parisian butcher Jean-Christophe Prosper said: "The softness and flavour are unique and made the reputation of this breed. The marbling and the cream colour of the fat demonstrate an excellent ability for finishing."
Perhaps now roast boeuf will soon be dominating restaurant menus across France.
