Haywood to replace NBA chief Robert Forster
Kim-Marie Haywood is to take over from National Beef Association chief executive. Robert Forster, when he retires from his post on 27 July.
The internal promotion was approved by the NBA's Board of Management last week.
Haywood joined the Association as a policy advisor in August 2004 following three years as quality development manager with Quality Meat Scotland in Edinburgh and a ten year period as an agricultural education development specialist in Australia.
She is a qualified meat inspector, has a BSc in Applied Human Nutrition from Queen Margaret University College in Scotland and owns commercial cattle.
"During Kim-Marie's time with the NBA she has shown herself to be an enthusiastic supporter of the beef industry and her wide knowledge of consumer, retail, processor, cattle health, breeding and commercial farm issues makes her an ideal replacement for Robert," said NBA chairman, Duff Burrell.
"Her strong technical, farming, and management background will help the NBA increase its influence in important development areas and add weight to its longstanding efforts to encourage retailers and processors to accept that well produced beef is a quality item well capable of earning more from the market."
Haywood's promotion leaves a vacancy for the position of NBA Policy Advisor.
