HCC Launch New Welsh Lamb Advert

 - Published:  27 June, 2007

A new Welsh Lamb TV advert will premier next week as part of a marketing campaign to promote the unique qualities of Welsh lamb.

Entitled 'Wet your appetite', the 30 second long advert is voiced by Welsh actor and Hollywood star Matthew Rhys and brings together alternate images of a Welsh Lamb joint being prepared and the rain soaked Welsh landscape.

The advert was created by Hybu Cig Cymru-Meat Promotion Wales (HCC) and shot in the Brecon Beacons. It will be aired for the first time at 19.45 on ITV1 and HTV Wales on 4 July.

Bill Joyce, Marketing Manager for HCC said: "The green and fertile environment of Wales is ideal for nurturing the highest quality lamb. The new Welsh Lamb TV advert clearly illustrates the link between quality Welsh Lamb and the surroundings in which it is reared. Welsh farmers produce a quality product that the consumer demands, and that is what this advert sells."

Last month the HCC'S Board of Directors announced they would make use of financial reserves to fund extra marketing activity for Welsh Lamb in a bid to resolve the issues facing the sheep industry in Wales.

The TV advertising campaign is part of the marketing strategy aimed at keeping the Welsh lamb brand at the forefront of the consumer mind.
