Beef export drive in Cyprus

 - Published:  07 June, 2007

Industry leaders in Cyprus will be treated to a beef feast in a bid to promote British exports.

Supermarket bosses, top chefs, meat importers and opinion formers in Cyprus will sample the delights of top quality meat at a reception to be staged by EBLEX.

The reception will be held at the British Embassy in Nicosia on 27 June, as part of EBLEX's efforts to expand beef exports.

Jean-Pierre Garnier, EBLEX export manager, said: "The large British ex-patriot community in Cyprus and Cypriot consumers themselves are clamouring for better beef, as, at present, they cannot get the quality of beef they would like.

"We are already exporting regularly to the island, but there is an awful lot of scope for us to increase the volume and value of the beef we sell them."
