The English Beef and Lamb Executive (EBLEX) is back on the hunt to find England's best beefburger. The competition has three dedicated categories for entry - butchers, caterers and manufacturers.

The prize is the prestigious title of 'England's Best Beefburger' and a £5,000 publicity prize fund.

Mike Whittemore, retail project manager for EBLEX, said: "The accolade of producing 'England's Best Beefburger' is highly sought after. Beefburgers are one of the nation's favourite foods, eaten both in and out of the home and enjoyed by adults and children alike. This means quality is of paramount importance. We know there are some wonderful, innovative and tasty beefburgers available and this competition gives those caterers, butchers and manufacturers the chance to prove that theirs are the best."

The deadline for entry is Friday 22 June. Entries will be evaluated in a paper judging round. Shortlisted entrants will then be asked to submit four samples of their beefburger to be cooked and tasted for a panel of experts.
