Cranswick has shown an increased turnover of 14% at £248m, in the six months leading to 30 September 2006.

Announcing its un-audited interim results, Cranswick reported profit before tax up 13% at £15.5m, compared with £13.6m in 2005.

Cranswick chairman, Martin Davey, said: "It is pleasing to be reporting continued growth at Cranswick. Record sales and profits were achieved and cash generation was particularly encouraging. The business is positioned in a number of premium categories which are showing strong growth and this, coupled with increased market share, is driving sales."

The news follows the recent acquisition of pre-packed cooked meats supplier DeliCo, which the company believes will help it develop its customer base and grow further.
