True Taste awards invite
Hybu Cig Cymru/Meat Promotion Wales (HCC) is encouraging meat producers from across Wales to enter the 2006/07 True Taste Awards and compete for the highest honour in the Welsh food and drink industry.
Now in their fifth year, the awards recognise quality, innovation and excellence in the Welsh food and drink industry with more than 500 products judged each year. Managed by the Welsh Assembly, almost 200 companies entered last year with 37 finalists receiving gold, silver, bronze and highly commended awards.
Gwyn Howells, chief executive of HCC, said, "As a partner in the industry, HCC has been delighted to support the awards over the past few years. It's great to see an award scheme recognising Welsh meat producers, which are of the highest quality. Feedback from previous winners proves that there are measurable, positive benefits from being associated with the True Taste brand."
Andrew Eastwood of Yerbeston Gate Farm Shop, which received a Gold award in last year's Producer category for its Welsh Black Beef Fillet Steak, said: "The publicity generated by being a True Taste winner has been very beneficial to our business."
The closing date for entries is 30 June 2006.
Entry forms and more information on the award categories can be obtained by calling 0800 085 3663 or emailing truetaste@quadrant.uk.com
