Alan Horine retires from Randall Parker

 - Published:  18 April, 2007

Alan Horine has retired from Randall Parker Foods in Llanidloes after serving the meat industry in various capacities for over 50 years.

Horine has almost always been involved in marketing, both in the UK and abroad.

He has been particularly successful in establishing 'Welsh' lambs throughout Europe.

He will retain links with the meat trade through representation of the Randall Parker Food Group, as Chairman of the Guild of Welsh Lamb and Beef Suppliers, and on forums and committees.

He is also a Director of Hybu Cig Cymru (Meat Promotion Wales).

In the Southern European markets he is affectionately known as 'Mr Alan'.

His career started on Smithfield Market in 1953 and after several years with the Vestey Group he spent 10 years at North Devon Meat before joining Barretts and Baird.

It was from West Bromwich that Alan joined Hamer International, now Randall Parker Foods.
