Industry mourns Edkins

Past Master of the Worshipful Company of Butchers John Edkins (76) has died.
Edkins, an accountant by profession, had been Master in 2005-6.
He was chairman of the Institute of Meat, now the WCB Guild, from 1999-2004 and was instrumental in reviving its range of activities.
He was also very active in charity work. He leaves a wife and one son, two other children pre deceasing him.
