New appointment at HCC

Kirsten Smith has been appointed to the new position of Red Meat Executive at Hybu Cig Cymru - Meat Promotion Wales.

Kirsten Smith has been appointed to the new position of Red Meat Executive at Hybu Cig Cymru - Meat Promotion Wales (HCC).

Smith, whose family farms sheep in Trelech, Carmarthenshire, will be responsible for enhancing, delivering and implementing Welsh red meat industry strategy with a view to complementing the range of Welsh Assembly Government's policies for the wider food and drink industry.

Having worked for the for the National Assembly for Wales' Agriculture Department before Smith has already worked with HCC as a Industry Development Project Coordinator. She graduated in Agricultural Economics at the University of Reading before progressing with her studies at the University of Bangor where she studied for her MSc in Conservation and Land Management.
