Food from Britain appoints MD for its Italian arm

Sauro Musiani has been appointed managing director of Food From Britain Italy.

Sauro Musiani has been appointed managing director of Food From Britain (FFB) Italy, which gives strategic market development advice to British companies wishing to export to the country. He replaces Nigel Brown, who now becomes chairman of the company.

FFB says that having worked in the food industry since 1988, Musiani will bring a wealth of experience to the role. Starting as a buyer for Italy's second largest food chain Conad, Musiani moved to Danone where he worked as a regional sales manager, before taking on product marketing and business development positions in high-profile companies, including Diageo. Since 1997, Musiani has held a series of senior roles at Granarolo, one of the largest food companies in Italy with a turnover of more than €1bn.

Commenting on the appointment, Simon Waring, Marketing and International Management Director at FFB said: "We are delighted to welcome Sauro to the FFB team at what is an exciting time for British exporters to Italy, a market which highly values quality food and drink.

"Sauro's experience and enthusiasm will enable us to continue to help British companies enter and thrive in this increasingly important market for food and drink exports."
