Tastes of Anglia appoints new chair
Regional food group Tastes of Anglia has appointed a new chairman, John Cousins, who has joined the organisation from The Wildlife Trusts UK.
Tastes of Anglia aims to promote local food and drink, and Cousins, who is a farmer and land manager in Suffolk, is looking forward to his new role: "I feel this is a pivotal moment in the food and drink industry; there are important issues to address including local sourcing and providing the consumer clear choices," he said.
Cousins suceeds Robert James who has moved to the position of patron of Tastes of Anglia.
Previously, Cousins was head of agricultural policy at The Wildlife Trusts UK and dealt with policy matters relating to farming, the enviroment and 'green' production methods. He is a former chairman of the Suffolk Wildlife Trust and the Suffolk Farming and Wildlife Advisory Group.
Cousins will take over from Robert James at Taste of Anglia's annual food and drink festival Feast East on 8, 9 and 10 March where he will be master of ceremonies at the pork seminar, Pork for Profit
