New man at the helm of McIntosh Donald
ALAN MCNAUGHTON, sales director at McIntosh Donald, takes over from managing director Ralph Green this Friday (2 June). Green will be retiring.
Commenting on his achievements, Jose Peralta, managing director of Grampian's Red Meat Business Unit said, "We would like to thank Ralph for his significant contribution to the development of the McIntosh Donald business over the last 18 years and his involvement with the wider red meat industry in Scotland. We all wish him a long and happy retirement."
NcNaughton was brought up on a farm in Perthshire which is now run by his brother. He graduated with a degree in Animal Production Science from Edinburgh University and joined meat processor FMC where he ended up as general manager of FMC Perth. "I learned the trade under well-known names such as Richard Cracknell and Alan Stevenson," says McNaughton. In 1995 he joined the Grampian Group as sales director for McIntosh Donald and worked closely with Ralph Green. McNaughton is junior vice president of the Scottish Meat Wholesalers Association, chair of the technical advisory committee of the Quality Meat Scotland assurance scheme and sits on the Farm Assured Standard scheme.
