'Rock solid' NBA hits back

The Scottish membership of the NBA is still "rock-solid" according to chief executive Robert Forster.

"There isn't a tremor in our membership," he told the MTJ this week. "There are people who no longer hold office and we have a new Scottish Council and have sacked Keith Redpath as a board member. I would say that we have got rid of our germs and therefore we are stronger because of that."

He estimated around 10 former office holders were responsible for setting up the new Scottish Cattle Association, none of which had resigned membership of the NBA.

He also claimed that the vote made by the former council, which was reported as having 18 of the 22 members vote to do their own thing, was actually a vote to put the issue towards the NBA's Scottish membership.

He denied hearing Bill Harper, NBA Treasurer, forecast a 50/50 split in the Scottish membership at the NBA AGM last week. "Our membership in Scotland is rock solid and going to grow," he added.
