OUTGOING PRESIDENT SAYS HE APPRECIATES BRITISH TRADE
Gerry Thompson said he had appreciated the relationship with the British industry in his three-year posting in Brussels.
He said the European scene was becoming more complex and one of the changes that had to be maintained was working closely with importers to maintain a synergy. Another of his major roles, and which Berryman will now continue, is lobbying EU of?cials and World Trade Of?cials in the interests of New Zealand lamb. Thompson said: "I thoroughly enjoyed my time in Europe but all good things must come to an end... it's been a very interesting job and it's been quite varied." This will be Anne Berryman's second European posting as she was Meat New Zealand's Continental Market Manager from 1997 to 1999.
