THE NEW Scottish Food Scholarship Award for chefs under 25 has its first winner.

Kevin Sutherland from the Balmoral Hotel, Edinburgh, was selected by a panel of Michelin-star chefs at the Glasgow Metropolitan College.

Kevin receives an internship with Martin Wishart and Andrew Fairlie of Gleneagles, plus a trip to Melbourne, Australia, to learn from Raymond Capaldi at the Fenix.

Kevin was one of eight finalists who were each given a box of ingredients to cook with.

Quality Meat Scotland and Campbells Prime Meats are principal partners for the Award.
