APPOINTMENTS

PIG MARKETING company Porcofram Marketing has strengthened its administration team with the addition of Victoria Leggett as DataPorc Business Co-ordinator and Samantha Taylor as DataPorc Processor.

Victoria is responsible for financial aspects of Porcofram's operations including credit control, account documentation and the reporting of information to and from the pig producers and processors who use the marketing services of Porcofram. Samantha is responsible for the administration of weaner procurement and supply, handling several thousand pigs each week from all over the country. She also processes the carcase information and payments that go to contracted producers.

SKILLS ACADEMY FOR FOOD & DRINK

THE PROJECT team tasked with establishing the new Skills Academy for Food and Drink has been announced by Improve, the food and drink sector skills council. Experienced project manager Steve Bathie has been brought in to lead the team. As project director, he is responsible for the design, development and delivery of the academy.

Sector specialists, David Tournay and John Nixon, have been recruited internally to the roles of academy development managers. Amy Ballester has been appointed to provide administrative support to the team.

The project team will ensure that by September, six centres of excellence are set up, focusing initially on advanced manufacturing, which is relevant to all food and drink sub-sectors. The sixth centre of excellence will be on-line, offering opportunities for distance learning, and providing a resource centre.
