£2.25 state aid to wales okayed

THE EUROPEAN Commission has approved the payment of £2.25 million by the UK government on the Meat Generic Advertising Scheme for Wales, from April 2006 to March 2007.

Brussels allowed this state aid payment, concluding that it would not give Welsh meat an overly unfair advantage in the European Union market.
