A German producer has been awarded a contract by North Korea to supply giant rabbits as meat to help meet the food shortage.
The German pensioner has so far sold eight females and four males to North Korea. The first consignment included Robert, a 10.5kg bruiser, the size of a dog.
Karl Szmolinsky also said he had received requests for rabbits from a Chinese buyer.
He breeds German gray rabbits which are among the world's biggest rabbits and sell his annual crop of 60 to 80 to other breeders in Germany for around £130.
