Bluetongue case in W Sussex

 - Published:  06 February, 2008

Bluetongue has been discovered on a farm in West Sussex, Defra has revealed.

Two cattle, on a farm near Haywards Heath, were found to be positive for the disease.

The area was already in a control zone, which requires farmers to test their livestock before moving outside its boundaries.

The zone has now been extended to include Horsham and Crawley in West Sussex.
