Browns Foodservice was celebrating after first-time success at the Rugby Business Awards recently.

The company claimed the much-coveted Business of the Year title while md Andrew Dalton also took home the title of Boss of the Year.

A surprised Dalton had to go on stage to receive his trophy, after being secretly nominated by his staff.

With their Head Office in Rugby, this was the first time the catering butchers had entered the awards.

The glittering award ceremony - the ninth in the awards history - boasted Neil & Christine Hamilton as guest speakers, and attracted huge cross section of entrants from across the borough.

Browns has three main depots across the UK and two further distribution sites.

Judges said they were impressed by the company's commitment to its customers, and its vision for the future. By tailoring a bespoke service to individual client requirements, Browns give its clients the levels of uncompromised quality and service they deserve. The judges also took into account Browns commitment to its staff and the local community.

"It's all down to the staff - they drive the company. We have 160 employees and they all play their part. It's a great achievement and I'm pleased and proud." said Andrew Dalton.
