Scotch beef goes to Disney
Beef from Scotland has just been added to the menu at Disneyland Paris, in the steakhouse The Silver Spur.
Emmanuel Rault, quality director for Groupe Flo, who supply the catering for the Disney Village, said: "Our restaurant, one of the upmarket offerings in the Disney Village area of the park, has added an L-Bone steak to its menu, clearly identified as originating from Scotland.
"I am very proud to have such a quality product on my menu."
The restaurant is a major draw in the park, serving more than 1,000 steaks every day. The L-Bone is a sirloin steak served on the bone, and sells for €25 (£17) at the restaurant.
Laurent Vernet, head of marketing for Quality Meat Scotland (QMS), said: "This move is further proof that there is growing demand for a premium beef product in Europe, and people are now turning to Scotland to source it.
"Since the end of trading restrictions last year, Scottish red meat companies who are exporting have been making concerted inroads into the European market, and it is great news that a high profile restaurant chain such as this is leading the way."
