Burns Night the Italian way
A restaurant in Glasgow has created a classic Italian dish with a Scottish twist to celebrate Burns Night.
The Sannino Restaurant on Bath Street has created a Haggis Lasagne to toast the Scottish Bard on January 26th. A spokesperson for the restaurant commented: "What better way to enjoy the 'Great chieftain of the puddin'-race', than incorporated into one of Italy's renowned dishes".
The Burns Supper, which has been apart of Scottish culture for over 200 years, allows Scots to come together and celebrate the life of the national Bard, 'Rabbie' Burns, who having immortalised haggis in verse, set the precedent for the dish to be used to celebrate his birthday
