Celebrity chef Paul Rankin (pictured centre) is hoping to build on the natural image of his burgeoning sausage brand by sponsoring two sailing siblings' bid for Olympic glory.

Northern Irish brothers Connor (27) and Johnny (25) McGaughey have received backing from Rankin and Doherty & Gray, manufacturer of the Rankin Selection sausage brand, as they compete for a place in the 49er class at the 2008 Beijing Olympics."We are delighted to support this clean, green sport and in particular the McGaughey brothers' Olympic bid in this sailing class," says Rankin. The recent introduction of Rankin Selection Sausages, now retailed in multiples across the UK and Ireland, follows on from the chef's successful launch of branded traditional Irish breads in February 2002.

The McGaughey brothers, from the County Antrim coast, have been training across Europe in preparation for their Olympic bid. Their yacht and campaign van feature Rankin Selection branding.
