Don't miss the Big Debate

The event, which is free for industry to attend, is part of the Food Standards Agency's consultation on charging for the Meat Hygiene Service.

Smith will be chairing a panel of speakers, which includes FSA chief executive Tim Smith, BMPA's Stuart Roberts, NFU deputy president Meurig Raymond and butcher and abattoir operator John Mettrick.

The event, entitled 'The Big Debate; have your say on meat hygiene charging', will be held at the Ardencote Manor Hotel, Warwick, tomorrow, 13 February, and gives industry the chance to put their views on the MHS to the top people in the FSA.

The debate is taking place as part of the FSA consultation on MHS charging, so all views expressed will help feed into that process.

Attendance is free and open to anyone in the meat industry. Ed Bedington, editor of MTJ, said: "This is a great opportunity for everyone in the sector to make their views known, and I would urge all of you not to miss it."
