First Minister to open show
Scotland's First Minister and Gordon MSP Alex Salmond is to officially open this year's Christmas carcase show at Scotch Premier Meat Ltd in Inverurie on Monday, December 3rd.
This prestigious annual event attracts entries from many of the region's top beef, lamb and pork producers and is attended by leading high street butchers and caterers from throughout the UK.
Many of them will stay on for the 2007 Aberdeen Christmas Classic - Scotland's premier two-day winter farming event - which takes place at Thainstone Centre on Monday, December 3rd and Tuesday, December 4th. Bank of Scotland Corporate heads the list of local and national sponsors.
Commenting on the event, Alex Salmond said: "It is a privilege to be asked to officially open this year's carcase show. This event provides a great opportunity to showcase red meat of the highest quality which is renowned the world over. I'm looking forward to it immensely."
Scotch Premier Meat Ltd managing director Raymond Wight added: "We are delighted that the First Minister has been able to find time in his busy schedule to open this event which has become a highlight on the industry calendar."
