Change in the air at Primestock Show

 - Published:  16 March, 2007

Major changes to the annual

National Primestock Show & Sale have been announced by organiser the Staffordshire & Birmingham Agricultural Society.

The name will change to the English Winter Fair Show & Sale, bringing it in line with the other main winter events - the Welsh Winter Fair and the Scottish Winter Fair. Changes have also been made to ensure meat buyers have a genuine chance to purchase the supreme champion. George Greaves, show chairman, said: "The champion will automatically be entered into the show's auction of prize-winners and will be sold to the highest bidder."

The event's committee hopes the changes will make a visit to show, which will be held on 17-18 November, more accessible and enjoyable for all parties.
