British breeding stock has proved popular at central Europe's biggest food and farming show.

Indagra, in the Romanian capital Bucharest, was opened by the Romanian Prime Minister Calin Popescu Tariceanu who praised British breeding stock and genetics for its contribution to the Romanian livestock sector.

It is the first time there has been a British pavilion at the five-day show, which was held between 8-12 November, led by the MLC and co-funded by BPEX, EBLEX, HCC and QMS.

The stand was extremely popular with visitors and featured four different beef breeds and six sheep breeds. MLC Export Manager Jean Pierre Garnier said: "Britain enjoys an enviable reputation for excellence in livestock breeding and we have had a tremendous level of interest since the show opened.

"There is scope for a great deal of business from this show,."
