The Royal Agricultural Society of England (RASE) is to consult with farmers and rural communities to find ways to improve business opportunities.

Thomas Wheatley-Hubbard, chairman of RASE said the feedback will ensure the Society continues to deliver a first-class programme of shows, events and other communication activities.

As part of this exercise, the Royal Show and linked technical farming events, are to come under direct management by the Society. The two-year partnership with Haymarket Exhibitions has been dissolved.

Wheatley-Hubbard said: "We are keen for everyone in the industry to get involved and help us shape the future. Our experience of working with partner organisations puts us in the ideal position to help steer the agricultural sector towards a successful future."

The Royal Show has been confirmed for 2007 for Sunday 1 July to Wednesday 4 July
