Bertin looks to expand

 - Published:  26 October, 2006

A Brazilian beef exporter is looking to expand operations by 30% over the next year.

Speaking at SIAL in Paris this week, Hudson Carvalho Silveira, export manager with Bertin, one of the country biggest exporters, said the company was expecting a very good year.

He said the business would be looking to expand further into Russia and the Middle East, which are the area of highest growth for Brazilian beef exports.

Eastern Europe is also a target, he added, with countries like Bulgaria and Romania looking attractive.
