London venue for fine food fair

The event provides a forum for producers and suppliers to meet top-end caterers, delicatessen owners, retailers, restaurateurs, wholesalers and distributors from the UK and around the world.

New to this year's show is the Small Business Forum, which will include talks on subjects such as marketing and promotion for delicatessens, financial planning and how to increase sales through the internet.

A Fine Food Forum will allow chefs and industry experts to run demonstrations and tastings, showing the diverse nature of speciality food and drink.

The Great Taste Awards, organised by the Guild of Fine Food Retailers, another feature of the show, is renowned for being the most prestigious and authoritative food competition.

Food from Britain (FFB) is promoting quality British regional food and drink to both UK and international buyers.

FFB will be sponsoring Taste British Gold at the fair - a unique opportunity for buyers to taste all of the Gold Medal winners of the 2006 Great Taste Awards, which includes a number of meat product suppliers.

Kirsty Grieve, regional food and drink manager, said: "FFB's Defra funded campaign is helping to promote the UK's regional food and drink industry to both consumer and trade audiences.

"Through our presence at the fair, the UK's only trade event dedicated to gourmet and speciality produce, we hope to raise awareness and commitment to the fantastic range and quality of British food and drink amongst buyers, and further encourage regional sourcing across the industry."
