THE CHAMPIONS and reserve champions at the Easter show and sale of Spring lambs at Craven Cattle Marts' Skipton Auction Mart were snapped up by Stephen Maskill Butchers, Hebden Bridge.
The winners, a pen of three 47-kilo Charollais lambs from Lancashire sheep farmer Robert Towers, were bought by Maskill for £114 a head (243p per kilo).
Skipton Judge, butcher Ian Weatherhead, said: "The champions were a good, balanced pen of lambs - lean and evenly ?eshed through-out, without a gram of waste." Maskill also bought the reserve champions, the Charollais lambs presented by JR & DR Eagland, of Blubberhouses, Harrogate. Weighing in at 44 kilos, they sold for £90 each (204p per kilo). The lambs are already on sale.
