Terinex bags turn cold to hot
Manufacturing specialist Terinex was on hand at IFE to show off its latest innovative offer - ovenable bags that can go from the freezer to the oven.
The packaging material eliminates any need for handling meat once the product is in the bag, allowing high standards of hygiene.
Edwin Shufflebotham, sales director with Terinex, said the bags also allowed roasting meats to retain their moisture, reducing the need to add any further fats. The enclosed nature of the cooking also means ovens can be kept clean, he added. The bags are aimed at both retail and foodservice and the company has recently developed the technology to flow-wrap products using the bags.
